EvenHand’s festival run is finally winding down. Here is the line-up for today through the end of next week:

MEDITERRANEAN PREMIERE! (IF THEY FOUND THE MISSING PRINT)

FRENCH PREMIERE! SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 14

OPENING NIGHT FILM! DOUGHTY PERFORMANCE! WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17

THE LAST FESTIVAL? A ROCKIN’ GOOD TIME IN ANY EVENT!

In addition to these last several festivals, EvenHand will screen at the Imax Theater in San Antonio on October 30, 2003 as a benefit for the San Antonio Police Department’s widows and orphans fund, the 100 Club. We will post more information on that screening when we have all of the details confirmed.

The Invitation

Appropriately, now that the festivals are almost over, I am pleased to report that EvenHand has a life beyond the entertaining but somewhat insular world of film festivals. As you may have guessed from the logo on the home page, EvenHand will premiere on the Sundance Channel. I will be one of six directors showcased in their second New Voices series, which runs in the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. More detail about screening times will be posted here soon.

In February, the film will be released on Video and DVD by Arts Alliance America , a relatively new division of a stalwart New York-based indie production company. Not surprisingly, their focus is on independent cinema. Arts Alliance America has also committed to doing a full-fledged DVD release, complete with deleted scenes, a director’s commentary and a couple of Doughty’s songs from the film, accompanied by his own commentary about the music.

I am honored to have my film distributed by both of these companies and look forward to a fruitful relationship.
